The workshop follows on from our successful exhibition at New Ashgate Gallery in the summer of 2017.
Tracey Bush, one of the exhibiting artists from the show will be leading the workshop.
Family Book Making | Saturday 23 September | 1.30pm-2.30pm
Workshop Description: In this workshop you can make a range of different styles of small unique books to take away at the end of the workshop.
The small handmade books are ideal for taing notes, small sketches or filling with short stories and poetry! You can incorporate words and images into a small bound books and unique scroll books (using corrugated paper sheet which is bound into a unique wrapped cover) during the session or add them in at a later date!
Feel free to bring small scraps of paper or drawings that you might wish to incorporate into your books. You can also bring along small bits of writing and/or poetry if you’d like to include those too!
The workshop will take place at Farnham Maltings, Bridge Square, Farnham, GU9 7QR.
There are 10 child places available.
Tickets can only be brought online from the Making Space website and cost £5 each.
(Please note that tickets cannot be bought from Farnham Maltings’ box office)
Following the event there will be an Maker Talk by Tracey at The New Ashgate Gallery (in the main gallery space) at 2.45pm/3pm.
The talk is free to attend and all participants are welcome to stay on at the end of their workshop and join in. The talk will be about 45mins long and there will be a 1/2 hour discussion about Tracey’s works followed by a look at Hothouse 2017. (please note that this talk may not be suitable for very young children and there will be no seating)
Tracey will bring along a selection of work to share and will welcome questions from participants and Lynne Dick from Making Space.
The talk is free to attend and takes place in the main gallery: New Ashgate Gallery, Wagon Yard/Lower Church La, Farnham GU9 7PS.
Refreshments will be available before the talk.
