Over this 2-day course Emma will cover various subjects including developing your craftwork for batch production, wider distribution & sales and also working to commission.

Commission Me, Do you have a practice that could work to commission?
This talk is for all those interested in working to commission. It is important to understand what working to commission entails and if it is relevant to your craft practice. This will be an overview of the commissioning process. This talk is suitable for those who are self-employed, working for a sole practitioner or within a workshop or studio. Emma will give a brief overview of some of the commissions she has undertaken and some other makers, in scale and types of clients and what was involved. Emma will cover the type of business propositions for commissions B2B (interior designers, architecture, public art) and B2C ( the general public). What a commission entails and Do you have the personality and skills for working to commission? Understanding Bespoke or Customised craftwork. Pricing your work, and a brief overview of Managing a Commission and Contracts.
