About Linda Miller
Using her distinctive, unique style Linda embroiders onto heavy weight cotton using a wide selection of viscose, cotton, silk and metallic threads. She creates rich, colourful, naïve and humorous embroideries which contain figures set in the outdoors, always smiling and usually depicted within a story.
Linda has been a professional maker since graduating in 1988. Her work is exhibited successfully throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. She has pieces held in the Arts Council South East Collection and within the Permanent Textile and Dress Collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Her book “Creative Machine Embroidery” was commissioned and published in 2010 by A&C Black. Linda appeared on Kirsty’s Handmade Britain aired on TV in autumn 2011.
Linda regularly gives talks on her work and teaches freestyle machine embroidery to guilds and groups, nationally and internationally
