10 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE IN CRAFT – An Exhibition at Aspex

Making Space is delighted to partner with Aspex Gallery in Portsmouth to host an exhibition as part of our 10th Birthday celebrations.
Over the last ten years, Making Space has championed craft making, learning and participation by working with some of the most prominent and most exciting emerging craft talent in the UK
Nine of our associate makers have been selected for this celebratory exhibition in Aspex’s Craft Space: Alex Archbold, Kathryn Green, Stella Harding, Elizabeth Hodgson, Peter Levy, Sarah Macrae, Syann van Niftrik and Sue Paraskeva. A further two associates, Ami Hyde and Kate Reid will also have work for sale in the Aspex shop.
Director of Aspex, Joanne Bushnell said “We are delighted to present engaging work by a group of talented designer/makers and to celebrate the anniversary of Making Space. We share Making Space’s ethos of connecting people with the creative and/or making process and providing opportunities for visitors to engage with, understand and appreciate contemporary art and craft”.
The exhibition will run until 3 December 2017, Aspex is open Wednesday – Sunday from 11am-4pm each day.

Join a selection of local artists and makers for Aspex’s September #ThirdThursdays artist event – celebrating the arrival of Making Space: 10 Years of Excellence in Craft – marking the organisation’s legacy of supporting craft in Hampshire.
This #ThirdThursdays is a networking opportunity to meet artists and designer/makers from across Hampshire.
The event will will take place from 6 – 8pm.
