We are seeking a Chair who will support our Director and team in the implementation of our new strategy, taking us forward within a complex current and future landscape.
The Chair will act as an ambassador for Making Space, develop relationships with key stakeholders, provide leadership to Making Space and its Board; oversee the forward planning to ensure maximum impact for members and the sector; and will operate within our charitable objectives.
The Chair will support Making Space to implement a fundraising strategy to create new revenue streams beyond our existing local authority, supportive trusts and foundations, to become more agile, responsive and sustainable.
We are aware that an important step towards this goal is strong and diverse governance so that we can ensure our voice is meaningful and relevant to a broader community than we are currently addressing.
We are therefore actively seeking new Trustees from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic community who will help reshape our governance and be our ‘critical friends’ as we seek to engage with makers dealing with cultural, political and societal issues and a formal and informal education landscape increasingly devoid of creative opportunities.
We are specifically seeking people with expertise in law, human relations, marketing, and communications. We are also seeking someone with a financial or accounting background who could take on the role of our treasurer.
