Description:
Our silver clay jewellery course is designed to suit beginners, or those with a little experience, in using silver clay. You will learn the basic techniques including texturing, shaping, sanding, firing, polishing, and burnishing so that you can go on to create your own pieces.
Once you feel more confident with these key techniques, there is then the opportunity to explore new skills* like stone-setting, keum-boo, ring-making, or even try your hand at a different metal clay (copper). Our courses will involve some tuition but will largely aim to support you on self-led projects.
You can sign up for 5 weeks at a time, or if you prefer you can book 10 weeks for £230, saving £70. Simply add both 5-week tickets to your basket and the discount will be applied at checkout.
What’s included?
Each 5-week course will include all the tools and equipment. A 7g pack of silver clay (worth approximately £15) is included for the first session which is generally enough to make your first project. Additional packs of clay will be available to purchase from the tutor each session. Stones, 24k gold foil, bezel wire and findings will also be available separately to purchase. Any payments are taken by card on the day.
*Please note that these additional skills listed are examples of what could be taught, might not all be covered due to time limitations and are dependent on the group.
