Little Lives | Making Together

Bringing families together to get creative this summer. Pick and choose the 1hr sessions you’d like to attend.

Over the school summer holidays Making Space are offering a series of free facilitated crafty workshops for children and their caregivers. Participants will get the opportunity to try air-dry clay, weaving, beading / macrame, painting, oil pastels and fabric painting. The workshops have been created to inspire, challenge and increase participants confidence, learning new skills and sharing new experiences with their caregivers.  

We will be running 6 days of workshops, and each day will have four x 1hr sessions. Please book onto the time that suits you best. You will need to book tickets for all those attending (adults & children) and you can book group sizes or 2, 3 or 4.

If there isn’t space for you in one time slot, please try a different time as each session has a maximum capacity of 12. Children must be 5yrs+ and must attend with an adult. Adults are meant to stay for the whole session as this is designed as a family project.

The sessions will be facilitated rather than taught so whilst there will be a tutor in the session but your family will be able to explore the materials on hand and come up with your own creations. Please only book one session a day per family, but you are welcome to sign up to all the different craft forms.

26 July | Printing & mark making – create a selection of printed greetings cards. Sessions at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm & 1.45pm

2 August | Clay Creations – make some wonderful creations from air dry clay! Sessions at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm & 1.45pm

23 August | Woollen Weavings – combine colourful wool and fabric scraps to make woven hangings. Sessions at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 1.45pm

27 August | Painting & Oil Pastels – explore these two techniques and make colourful family portraits. Sessions at 11am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm, 2.45pm. Please note these sessions take place during our annual Open Studios.

28 August | Jewellery making – play with macrame & beads to make some beautiful jewellery. Sessions at 11am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm, 2.45pm. Please note these sessions take place during our annual Open Studios.

30 August | Fabric Painting – explore fabric paints & pens to jazz up material before making your own fabric bunting. Sessions at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 1.45pm
