Reach Out Summer Workshops
August 11 10:00 - 15:00
£12

Reach Out is a series of SEN craft workshops for children and young people with additional needs who cannot access mainstream activities. Participants will need a Gateway Card+ to access these workshops. Gateway Card+ can be obtained for free from the Hampshire County Council website.
Join us this summer as we host an incredible LEGO animation workshop. Work with Paul Gonella and Jack Halsall over 3 days and learn all about stop-motion; a fun filming method which will bring LEGO characters to life!
Come up with your own storyboard, script, backdrops and posters before filming content at Making Space and on location at Staunton Country Park. The course will also cover recording audio, foley sound effects and learning how to edit the short film together!
The final edit will be completed after the workshop and emailed to all attendees the following week. Join us for the full course to get the best experience or pick and choose the sessions that most inspire you:
Monday 8 August
10am-12noon – Learn about Stop motion, come up with a storyboard and a script as a group
1pm-3pm – Record audio, build sets and make props.
Tuesday 9 August
10am-12noon – Film ‘on location’ at Staunton & record foley sound effects
1pm-3pm – Film on LEGO backdrops and the around craft studio at Making Space
Thursday 11 August

Please note the Tuesday morning session will take place at Staunton. We will stay there for lunch and then walk back for the afternoon session at Making Space.
There will also be opportunities to film mini stop motion LEGO clips individually, if your child is interested in this please ensure they download a free app on their device prior to attending. Stop Motion Studio has a free app available for Android and Apple devices and a selection of some recommended apps can be found here. See this video as an example.
