Making Seeks Freelance Workshop Assistants and Buddies
Rate of pay varies depending on role and setting:
£45 (1hr after-school sessions)
£50 (2hr Sessions at Making Space)
£65 (longer sessions at a community event)
Making Space, a craft centre with studios and learning spaces based in Leigh Park, is looking to work with self-motivated people who have experience working with young people with additional education needs and can help to support workshops led by professional makers and artists on our REACH OUT projects.
The role will involve being supportive and reassuring to children young people, liaising with their parents, assisting artists and keeping registers to asking for feedback.
Good clear communication skills, an appreciation of equal opportunities and ability to work flexibly in a variety of settings and within a small team are essential. Experience of the visual arts and knowledge of safeguarding would be an advantage, although training in the latter will be provided.
