Making Space are thrilled to be launching a brand new project; Make New & Mend.
Funded by Hampshire County Council’s Waste Prevention Fund, the project will prevent household waste through a series of ‘make new and mend’ inspired workshops.
These sessions will teach the participants inventive and clever ways to repurpose, upcycle and mend household items to prevent them from going to waste. Not only will those attending learn new creative skills but they will also gain knowledge and confidence. Rather than a ‘repair cafe’ format, we want to teach you the techniques so you can do it yourself and pass those skills on!
Before the project launces we need your input. We want to know what kind of sessions you’d like to do! We have created a really simple online questionaire where you can have your say. Just click on the link below to take part.
To ensure these sessions are as accessible as possible they have been priced at just £3 a session, we hope that this low price point will remove any barriers that might prevent lower income households attending. We’d like to take the opportunity to thank Hampshire County Council for funding this project and enabling us to subsidise this project!
We can’t wait for the project to launch, and dont forget if you’d like to have your say and take part comment in the questionaire and make sure you’re following our E-Newsletter as that’s where we’ll advertise the workshops once the programme have been confirmed.
