Making Space Open Studios Call out: Making Matters – Pivotal Point
The Making Space team would like to invite you to submit work to exhibit on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May 2018 from 11am-4pm with a private view on Friday 18 from 5pm -7pm.
To celebrate making and why it matters we have organised a special exhibition to coincide with our 2018 Open Studios. We have invited the Havant Writers Group to create written work and send us complimentary photographs pin pointing why they have been inspired to make, sharing memories of someone who inspired them to make or recalling the first thing they made or repaired.
We would love to invite more makers to contribute too. It could be an image, sketch, postcard sized work or an object accompanied by a brief description (no more than 50 words to describe the inspiration).
Some questions to get you thinking, recalling or making:
- What was the turning point for you or the pivotal point which inspired you to start making?
- What did you create?
- Did a relative inspire you to start making?
- Why did this make a difference to you?
- Why do you feel making/creating something matters?
- What are you making now?
- Would you be happy to take a photograph of this and lend a piece of your art for exhibition?
The exhibition is meant to be inspirational, light hearted and fun. So just be spontaneous… we want to inspire others to make too.
If you are interested in taking part, please use the submission form (available to download below) to provide us with information regarding the work you would like to exhibit. You are welcome to submit up to 2 pieces of work. A selection process may take place due to size and space restrictions. There is no entry fee for submitting to this exhibition. Please also make clear in your submission form if you would like to have your exhibited work for sale at this event.
