Saturday 14 December 2019
10am-12noon / 1pm-3pm
This listing is for a Saturday Christmas inspired day. Participants can come for a morning session, an afternoon session but we recommend staying all day!
The day will be led by textile artist Kathryn Green.
The workshop will be all about making festive decorations! You will start the day by marbling paper using special metallic inks. These will then be left to dry whilst you get on with another activity. Next you will start designing and creating your own 3D stuffed felt Christmas decorations…! You have the option to use templates designed by Kathryn or create your own.
You might choose to make something traditional like a Christmas tree, star, bauble, snowman etc or make something more unique like a dinosaur, an initial or a robot! It’s totally up to you! Once you’ve finalised your design, use a template to cut out 2 sides from a collection of colourful felt material. You can then decorate with stitch, glitter, buttons, sequins, applique etc. The two sides can then be stitched together and stuffed, finally a ribbon or wool hanging loop can be added.
Towards the end of the session you can also use your now dried marbled paper to make decorative cards and gift tags!
During Lunch you will need to bring a packed lucn as we’ll break in the corridor (The Hub Cafe is closed on the weekends)
