This listing is for a one off Summer workshop with maker Ami Hyde.
In the session you will learn how to make a colourful tie dye cushion!! In the morning you will tie dye a length of fabric using bright coloured dyes and different techniques. You can also bring along other white / plain clothes to dye if there is time! In the afternoon you will transform you length of fabric into a cushion cover using a sewing machine!!
The workshop runs from 10am- 12noon, we’ll then take an hour to break where we’ll head to the corridor / courtyard. ** Please bring a packed lunch. The afternoon session will run from 1pm-3pm.
Reach Out is a series of creative workshops for children and young people with additional needs who cannot access mainstream activities. Workshops are specifically for Hampshire young people who have a Gateway Card. All existing previous Gateway Card holders need to have applied for a new one in order to come to these sessions. We have 2 spaces on each course covered by funding from Children in Need. These are for additional needs young people living in Portsmouth who can’t get a Gateway Card. These are sold first come first served.
*Please note workshops can be messy, aprons will be available but please wear messy clothes.
*These sessions are designed for the young person to attend on their own, giving the parent a short break. Parents are welcome to stay if they child prefers it, tea and coffee facilities are available for free in the corridor.The parents are not intended to come in and do the workshop as well.
*The cost for young people for the whole day is £20. This includes all materials.
*There are 10 places only so please book early to avoid disappointment. places will be sold on a first come first served basis, with payment securing your place.
