This listing is for an Easter holiday workshop. Participants can come for a morning session or an afternoon session but we recommend staying all day and doing both! 🙂
The day will be led by Maxwell Hyde and Ami Hyde.
10am-12noon | Morning Session by Maxwell Hyde
Work with carpenter Maxwell Hyde on this exciting woodwork morning workshop! Make a hinged wooden keepsake box to paint at home / later on in the day (if time). Learn how to mark out your sides, use a saw to cut and a drill, screws and hinges to assemble!
1pm-3pm | Afternoon Session by Ami Hyde
In the afternoon session work with Ami Hyde and explore the creative possibilities of tie-dye! Bring along some faded, unloved or boring clothes from home (with parents permission) and transform them using a variety of tie-dye techniques. From T-shirts to socks… bedspreads to jumpers…. What will you Tie Dye? Please note 1 plain white t-shirt per young person will be provided but please also bring items from home (max of 4 items)
During Lunch we will head to The Hub cafe in Leigh Park so please bring some money with you to get some yummy lunch there or bring along a packed lunch!
Reach Out is a series of creative workshops for children and young people with additional needs who cannot access mainstream activities. Workshops are exclusively for Hampshire young people who have a Gateway Card. All existing previous Gateway Card holders need to have applied for a new one in order to come to these sessions. *Please note workshops can be messy, aprons will be available but please wear messy clothes.
*These sessions are designed for the young person to attend on their own, giving the parent a short break. Parents are welcome to stay if they child prefers it, tea and coffee facilities are available for free in the corridor.The parents are not intended to come in and do the workshop as well.
*The cost for young people for a half day is £10 / for the whole day is £20. This includes all materials.
*There are 10 places only so please book early to avoid disappointment. places will be sold on a first come first served basis, with payment securing your place.
