COURSE DESCRIPTION | Weekend Workshop – Pop-Up Paper Theatres with Tracey Bush
Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th September 2021
10am – 4.-30pm each day.
Learn how to design and make your own paper theatre, with wrap around storage box, in this fantastic weekend workshop. Paper toy theatres were very popular in the 19th century. The format you will make during the course is the tunnel book – a series of cut-paper panels placed one behind the other, creating the illusion of depth and perspective. This is engineered like an accordion, which can pull apart so that the illustrated panels line up to be viewed through a front panel. You will learn how to design your own scene, how to cut and assemble the layers, to create portable paper sculpture.
