Organised by Making Space, Vessels was a selected show that featured a range of high-quality, original craft and artworks, in response to the title theme.
After a call out to artists and makers, Making Space was overwhelmed by the creative and varied response. Over 120 pieces of artwork across all manner of art forms (including textiles, ceramic, glass, paper, painting, fashion, jewellery, drawing, photography, silversmithing and woodturning) were submitted, and 41 makers were invited to showcase their work at the exhibition itself.
Open to the public for one week in October 2014, the exhibition became Making Space’s most popular and successful exhibition to date. With most of the pieces for sale, the event provided the perfect opportunity to buy works from some of the UK’s top crafters and makers.
