2020 Summer Open Studios
Following a successful first Virtual Open Studios back in May we are now excitedly planning our Summer Open Studios to take place later this month on the weekend of the 22 and 23 August. Our Summer Open Studios always coincides with the fantastic Hampshire Open Studios and we are excited to make this weekend bigger, better, more inspiring and engaging then our May event.
We are of course still disappointed that we still can’t open our doors to you properly but your heath and that of our tenants is our top priority and so we hope that you will once again join us online for our second Virtual Open Studios. How does a Virtual Open Studios work?
Over the last few months we’ve all adapted and many of us are more familiar and comfortable with online activity now, but for those that are still unsure, let me explain what will happen… As you can’t come to us, we will instead bring our Tenants and Associate Makers to you! Using Social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube & Zoom over the weekend of the 22 & 23 August from 11am-4pm you can join us virtually throughout the day.
Our team will be responsible for sharing across different platforms and we are working on an exciting programme of events and content which we will share soon… There will be ‘Featured Makers‘, where we’ll shine the spotlight on our current Studio Tenants, introduce a brand new tenant and feature some of our fantastic Associate Makers too. In these features they will tell you a little about themselves, their practice and inspirations and then we’ll also share links to their websites and social media pages and ask them to update you on recent news, BTS info, shots of their studio and tools of the trade and show recent work or new projects.
In addition to this and new compared to our May event we will also be organising a series of inspirational & informative videos (featuring demos, talks, advice and introductions) and 3 tenants will also be hosting free Zoom events where you can join them for a demonstration, a Q&A session or a mini online workshop!!
We are working really hard to create an inspiring, engaging and brilliant event where you can discover and support your local craft scene!
Please join us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
We will share the Zoom links below for the 3 Zoom events! We would love it if you can join us at some point throughout the weekend and any stories will be shared to our highlights incase you can’t make it on the day. We would love your support by means of likes, comments and engagements with posts. Follow the makers we’re featuring as times are still hard for makers and they need your support! Don’t forget that if you like what you see, please consider buying or commissioning some work from our makers, booking onto 121 or online sessions or if you can’t do that, simply sharing the posts/stories to your own timelines / feeds as that way you can help them reach more people and a much wider audience.
If you have any questions please email us and we hope to see lots of you on Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 August from 11am-4pm!
