About Alex Archbold
After two years studying glass in architecture and in art at Central St Martins, using glass mainly in 2 dimensional art works, I became more interested in 3D sculpture and undertook an MA at UCA Farnham, where I explored the boundaries between 2D and 3D glass by incorporating cast elements in architectural panels This work earned awards in the 2010 Stevens Competition for Architectural Glass. I also developed techniques for bringing design elements into the interior of cast glass forms.
Since graduating in 2012 I have had a studio at Making Space, where I continue to make work for exhibition and to commission, mainly inspired by organic forms.
