About Rachel Reynolds
Rachel creates an innovative collection of hand, screen and digitally printed textiles and artworks for the domestic and commercial interior.
Rachel has over 15 years’ experience working as a freelance textile designer, artist and tutor specialising in printed textiles. Rachel gained an MA in Textile Design at Winchester School of Art in 2012 (Distinction) and developed her work to include hand drawn and digital printed designs for wallpapers, furnishing fabrics and large-scale Perspex installations.
Rachel launched her interior Heritage collection in 2014. Inspiration is taken from Rachel’s parental and personal heritage and includes aspects of nature, architecture and memorabilia. From Myanmar (Burma) to Scotland, peacocks, stags, thistles, viaducts and city walls adorn her designs. Drawings, patterns and textures are created by hand and composed digitally. The collection includes luxury wallpapers, fabrics, light shades, cushions and greeting cards.
Rachel has experience of working to commission for commercial and domestic interiors on a variety of projects including: large-scale contemporary textiles for churches and building atria in Europe and Los Angeles, as an artist and tutor for community art projects, through to producing textiles for the domestic interior and designs for bespoke stationery and homeware products. Inspiration for projects have included, nature, architecture, heritage and identity.
Rachel recently started a part-time position as a Digital Textile Design Technician at Winchester School of Art. This involves providing technical support for Fashion and Textile Design students in Digital Mimaki Printing, delivering workshops and demonstrations to students in CAD and fabric dyeing, alongside offering practical support in the use of specialist equipment.
