We’re really excited about this new initiative; it’s been something we’ve been wanting to do for a while now.
The idea is simple; we, as a creative venue will provide you with “a space to make” (or ASTM)
The sessions will be free to attend, although as we are a charity we will welcome donations, and attendees are invited to come along and bring your own crafty projects to work on.
We hope that over time A Space To Make community will evolve, and the regular sessions will provide an opportunity to get out of the house and meet other people. You needn’t be a professional, quite the opposite, we welcome home crafters and all levels and ages. Bring along your knitting, your current creative project or even your colouring book and pencils. It doesn’t matter what you’re working on, just that people are coming together and getting creative.
We hope that by providing ‘a space to make’, Making Space will in turn meet more local people and more people will benefit from the brilliant venue and resources we have here. We also know that taking part in creative pursuits is great for personal well being and general happiness!
As of September 2017 ASTM will take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday morning from 10am-12noon. Upcoming 2017 dates are:
17 October, 7, 21 November, 5, 19 December
Making Space received some money from a HBC Councillor grant which will support ASTM. We used some of the money to put tegether a box of craft materials which users are welcome to use as needed. We hope this means that everyone, regardless if they have the materials at home, can come along and have a go,
We hope this will become a regular and well attended event from which many will benefit. If you have any questions please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
ASTM is designed with adults in mind, although if there is need to offer a similar offer to children and young people we can look into this at a later date!
