In 2018 we were excited to launch a new initiative; something we’d been wanting to do for a while. The idea was simple; we, as a creative venue would provide you with “a space to make” (or ASTM)
The sessions are free to attend, although as a charity we welcome donations, and attendees are invited to come along, bringing their own crafty projects to work on.
The regular sessions provide an opportunity to get out of the house and meet other people. You needn’t be a professional, quite the opposite, we welcome home crafters and all levels and ages. Bring along your knitting, your current creative project or even your colouring book and pencils. It doesn’t matter what you’re working on, just that people are coming together and getting creative.
We hope that by providing ‘a space to make’, Making Space will in turn meet more local people and more people will benefit from the brilliant venue and resources we have here. We also know that taking part in creative pursuits is great for personal well being and general happiness!
ASTM takes place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday morning from 10am-12noon.
Due to the COVID Pandemic we have now postponed all ASTM sessions in 2020. We will hopefully be able to start these again in the new year.
We will update here when we have confirmed dates and details.
Making Space received some money from a HBC Councillor grant which has supported ASTM. We used the money to put together a box of craft materials which users are welcome to use as needed. We hope this means that everyone, regardless if they have the materials at home, can come along and have a go,
If you have any questions please email us on admin@makingspace.org. Please note that ASTM is designed with adults in mind.
