Making Space launched an inspiring project in 2023 designed to nurture the next generation of designers and Makers. Creative Futures is a pilot project, the first year of the project has now finished and we are about to embark on the second year. 

Recruitment for year 2 of the project has now closed and the project will run from October 2023 – August 2024.

Funded by The Ragdoll Foundation, Creative Futures will offer those involved a creative experience far above what’s on offer at school or college, there will be opportunities to explore their creativity, learn new skills and build an inspirational portfolio to aid them in their creative future plans! 

The project is designed for young women aged 14-17 and over the course of a year participants will get to take part in 4 mini creative projects which will take place on Saturdays/school holidays (so not to interfere with school / college) The projects will focus on: Fashion Design & Pattern Cutting, Jewellery Design & Silversmithing, Millinery Design & Construction and Textile Design (Dyeing, Print & Embroidery). The 2023/2024 Project details are below.  

We will also help support the group in building an online professional presence, gaining a Bronze Art Award, careers guidance and a photoshoot to capture all the work made on the project.
