Making Space are thrilled to have launched another inspiring project designed to nurture the next generation of designers and Makers. Creative Futures will launchin 2023 and will run for 2 years.
Funded by The Ragdoll Foundation, Creative Futures will offer those involved a creative experience far above what’s on offer at school or college, there will be opportunities to explore their creativity, learn new skills and build an inspirational portfolio to aid them in their creative future plans!
The project is designed for young women aged 14-18 and over the course of a year participants will get to take part in 4 mini creative projects which will take place on Saturdays between January – August 2023 (so not to interfere with school / college) The projects will focus on: Fashion Design & Pattern Cutting, Jewellery Design & Silversmithing, Millinery Design & Construction and Textile Design (Dyeing, Print & Embroidery). You can now see the confirmed project dates & tutors below!
The project will also involve an inspirational trip, a final exhibition as part of 2023 Open Studios, support in building an online professional presecene, gaining your Bronze Art Award, careers guidance and a photoshoot to capture all the work made on the project.
The participants for the first year of the project have already been selected, but if you are, or know a young woman who would like to apply for year 2, please fill in the online application form below.
