Open Studios 2023

Join us this August for our Summer Open Studios
We’ve once again joined up with Hampshire Open Studios and will be opening our doors to you for 5 days this summer.Â
We will be open to the public on the following dates. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day.Â
Saturday 19, Sunday 20, Monday 21, Tuesday 22 & Wednesday 23 August 2023 | 11am-4pmÂ
Over the course of Open Studios you can meet, chat to and buy from our resident makers who will all be in their studios or open for a loo around.
You will also be able to enjoy our Creative Futures exhibition featuring work made in the first year of the project. The group will also be on hand to deliver a creative session AND you can find out more about signing up for year 2!
There will also be opportunities to get creative with us as we’ll be running a series of Taster Sessions… There will be more information on these soon. (Booking required for all sessions)
Finally (if that wasn’t enough) we will also be putting on a Pop-Up Shop in our Jewellery Studio! You will be able to browse and buy from a curated mix of local artisan makers and independent shops. If you’re a maker wanting to be a part of our Pop-Up Shop, find out more below!
There will be opportunities to enjoy some Summer Refreshments and chill out in our courtyard. Those wanting to make a day of it can also head on over to The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre in Havant, who we’ve partnered with, to check out their exhibition, shop and cafe!Â
Those that do venture to both venues can get a 2-part discount code which will be valid for 10% off full priced courses at Making Space in the Autumn/Winter season. (Please note that the discount cannot be used on any subsidised project)Â

Moon Water Treasures –Â
Catherine Claasen Ceramics –
“I have been developing my pottery skills and exploring which shapes, effects and style really appeal – my work explores contrasts in texture and form, using monochrome as a basis with strong pops of colour. I like mixing elements of handbuilding and strong graphic design with thrown stoneware.”
Â
Starfish Glass –Â
I fell in love with glass a few years ago when I was looking for a new hobby and attended some classes. I soon got hooked, bought a kiln and never looked back! All my work is designed and hand made by myself in my home studio. I find inspiration from the beautiful countryside and coastline around Emsworth where I live. Most of my work has a seaside or floral theme. I mostly make wall art but also love to create more functional items such as bowls, plates and lanterns. I sell my work on Etsy and at local craft markets but I gladly accept commissions.Â
Â
Laura Day –

Andrew Tebbutt –Â
Andrew is a Hayling Island based artist who has Bi-Polar and Tourettes. As a child Andrew had a speech impediment meaning he much preferred drawing on the blackboards rather than talking in class, this began a lifelong love of art & creating. He is inspired by life in general, but also Van Gogh who also had Bi-polar. Creating some form of art every day, Andrew most enjoys working with pastel, paint and pencil.Â
