We really enjoyed running this inclusive family project; Little Lives | Making Together over the summer of 2022.
“Bringing families together to get creative. Pick and choose the sessions you’d like to attend…”
Over the school summer holidays in August 2022 we offered a series of free facilitated crafty workshops for children and their caregivers.
Participants will got the opportunity to try air-dry clay, weaving, beading / macrame, painting, oil pastels and fabric painting. The workshops were created to inspire, challenge and increase participants confidence, learning new skills and sharing new experiences with their caregivers.
The whole programme was completely free to access for Leigh Park families and ran for 6 full days of workshops! On each day there was four x 1hr sessions, each accomodating up to 12 participants, that’s a total of 288 opportunities!
Participants booked onto the sessions that suited them best and enjoyed getting creative and having fun together as a family.
The Offer
26 July | Printing & mark making – create a selection of printed greetings cards.
2 August | Clay Creations – make some wonderful creations from air dry clay!
23 August | Woollen Weavings – combine colourful wool and fabric scraps to make woven hangings.
27 August | Painting & Oil Pastels – explore these two techniques and make colourful family portraits.
28 August | Jewellery making – play with macrame & beads to make some beautiful jewellery.
30 August | Fabric Painting – explore fabric paints & pens to jazz up material before making your own fabric bunting.
75% of those attending were newcomers to Making Space and 100% of those that gave feedback said the reason they came was because “it was something they could do together as a family”
100% would reccomend us to a friends and would all come back to do more sessions!
