At Making Space we are committed to increasing access to the many benefits of crafting. So we are delighted to announce that we have 50 bursary opportunities for free craft courses, meaning our high quality crafts teaching is now accessible to even more people, especially those who might have previously thought our classes were beyond their reach.

The Arts Society Portsdown is fully subsidising 18 places on our 5-week adult courses starting in September.

These bursaries are designed for people who really would love to come on our courses, but for whatever reason, their current financial situation prevents them from doing so.

The Hampshire County Council Local Solutions grant are fully subsidising an additional 20 places on our 5-week adult courses starting in September AND 12 places on our Taster sessions that are running as part of Hampshire Open Studios.

These bursaries are available for those with caring responsibilities. So, if much of your time is taken up with looking after a family member due to their age, health or specific needs, these bursary places are an opportunity for you to take some well-deserved ‘me time’!

Whichever of the above applies to you (it might be both!), please get in touch with us by phone or email and we will do our best to find you a place on one of our 5-week courses or taster sessions, absolutely free!

Each 5-week course bursary is worth £150. The Taster Sessions are worth £25 each.

Those coming along will be able to enjoy expert tuition in textiles, drawing and illustration, silver jewellery, fused glass, pottery or silver clay.
