Craft Community is a brand new project for adults looking for a regular creative activity to attend. Taking place on the second Tuesday and third Thursday (from 2024) of the month from June 2023 through to September 2024. The sessions are part of the Let’s Create Leigh Park project funded by Arts Council England. The project will be lead by Tanya and Bethany Wood (aka Wood & Daughters).
Sessions cost £5 each but we have a reduced rate of £3 a session for any Leigh Park residents.
Leigh Park residents – ensure you put Leigh Park in the Town/City address section during checkout and the discount will apply automatically.
14 November – Collage
We will be exploring collage to create simple, eye catching greeting cards for the festive season and beyond. Collage is a great way to make lots of designs, so you will soon have a bundle ready to send.
12 December – Festive Felt
Get ready for Christmas and special events by making decorations with felt. Learn applique, decorative stitching with all the trimmings for many occasions.
January – Upcycled Mitts
Keep your hands busy and warm with this session. We will use upcycled fabrics and textile skills to make fingerless mittens, both thrifty and useful.
February – Papercraft Blooms
Create a bunch of flowers with simple paper craftingtechniques to give or keep… because you are worth it.
March – Crochet Granny Squares
Learn or refresh the skills required to make a basic crochet granny square …one can lead to another which can lead to a blanket and more!
April – Photo-collage
Have fun creating collage with photos. Explore the possibilities limited only by your imagination. You may like to bring photocopies of your own photographs to use in this session.
May – Macrame
Enjoy knotting to make lovely things with macrame… it’s not just for hanging plant pots.
July – Paper bunting
Celebrate at every opportunity with your own handmade personalised paper bunting in a range of sizes and themes. It is party season!
August – Canvas work brooch
Come and enjoy stitching on canvas to make a wearable piece of your choice.
September – Pocket notebooks
Simple bookmaking using a wide variety of papers to make a fabulous gift for new starts or to fill with your ideas.
